  • This Children's Village is a private, charitable, social development organisation. It is politically and denominationally independent, and is an affiliated member of the largest private welfare organization for children in the world. Over 200 000 children benefit from the various residential, educational and developmental programmes operating in 135 countries.
    They take action for orphaned and abandoned children by building and strengthening families for them to live in and grow with love, security and respect.

    In a village, eight to ten children are cared for in small family-type homes and are raised like brothers and sisters. The Village opened its doors to orphaned children in 1994, and was honoured to be officially opened in 1996 by former President Nelson and is home to 141 children. Because of it being set up at the time of South Africa's new democracy, it was the first Village that was able to take in mothers and children of different races to live together under one roof. Up to eight children share a loving and secure home. The Village also has a community-based Family Strengthening Programme which supports families in need.

    Responsibilities:
    Interns and volunteers will be assigned to a house working alongside a house mother. You will assist the children in their daily lives and help coordinate their daily welfare and activities. This can include helping the children with their morning schedule if they are not at school, doing after school activities with them, and serving as a mentor and guide to the children in their daily lives. Short description of internship:

This school for learners with Autism was founded in 1974 with 5 learners and has grown to over 76 learners presently. Autism is a lifelong, neurological and developmental disability which affects patterns of development and a person’s ability to communicate, understand language, play and socially interact with others. Each class has a qualified educator and experienced class assistant. The therapy department has a qualified psychologist, speech therapist and occupational therapist.

Complementary therapies are an integral part of the educational programme at the school. This includes: Horse riding,Art therapy, Music therapy, HANDLE, Cranio sacral therapy. Learners also take part in specially adapted Sport programmes and Literacy programmes. The School regularly hosts community outreach programmes where they offer support, counselling and education regarding Autism to increase awareness and community support.

Internship tasks:

The school offers internships to Educational Students, Psychology students, Physical Therapy, Music Therapy, Special Needs, Nutrition and Occupational Therapy as well as to students and Volunteers who want to make a difference.

Psychology internship description:

Psychology interns are exposed to different areas of the school to ensure that their experience is a holistic one and they gain maximum benefit from their internship as follows:

Psychology section

Individualized Educational Development Programme Feedback Sessions: Interns receive exposure to the IEDP feedback sessions. This includes both the pre-discussion meetings and feedback meetings with parents.

Screening Interviews: Interns form part of the multi-disciplinary team during the screening interviews and learn how screenings are conducted in the school.

General Learner Observations

Interns are involved in observation of learners at all class levels from ages 3 to 18 years of age. This is done on a continuous basis.

Special Projects

Interns are often involved in special projects and will liaise with educators and the psychologist in this regard.

Applied Behavior Analysis Training

Interns have the opportunity to receive basic training in ABA from a qualified behaviour analyst. This basic training allows them to work more intensely with ASD learners.

Autism Clinic

As part of the outreach team interns assist parents with the application of daily living skills routine.

Occupational Therapy Liaising

Interns spend time interacting with the part time Occupational Therapist at the school. During these sessions they learn about the role of the OT and autism and the holistic focus of the child

Workshop Preparation

Interns may have the opportunity to partner with senior learners to the local retail stores and observe how learners receive training and exposure to the open labour market system.

Self Development

During their stay at the School, interns have the opportunity to commit themselves to learn more about ASD and the resources at the school as well as the professional expertise within the school.

    Internship tasks:
    The R&D Department consist of 2 sub-groups: the Formulation group and the Analytical Chemistry group.

    * The Analytical Chemistry group would be interested in a Chemistry intern to assist with the analytical method development, troubleshooting and validation of various methods required to ensure quality of new proposed products. This will also incorporate stability testing according to a scheduled protocol.
    * Analytical techniques used range from physical wet-chemistry techniques to specialised instrument techniques like, HPLC, GC, NIR and AAS. The prospective student will be involved in project teams that will seethe product through from inception until the 3-month test station of Stability. At the end of the internship, the student should have a good working knowledge of the laboratory testing requirements of food supplements and pharmaceuticals in South Africa.

    The Centre aims to provide training and capacity building programs for para-legals and women lawyers who wish to conduct constitutional litigation in regard to gender issues. They believe that there is a need to collaborate with women's organizations in all their activities. Their focus areas are fair access to resources, Having a safe place to stay, The right to Health, Being able to work and Being free of violence.

    Any litigation/Legal work conducted by the Legal Centre should advance substantive equality for women. Substantive equality is advanced through litigation that seeks to improve the lives of women who have been disadvantaged by social and economic conditions.

The Planning, Reporting and Continuity Coordinator reports monthly to the Operations Manager and Chief Project Director, and ensures good communication between the Operations Team and the members working on ground.  The Planning, Reporting and Continuity Coordinator works closely with the Operations Team to ensure all center needs are met – logistically, financially and infrastructural.

Internship description:
1.Assisting market research such as information sourcing.
2.To independently develop new clients/market and be sensitive to market

trends. Coordinate / well organize all the logistics, material printing,

document transfer for internal meetings and external customer meetings.
3.Build and retain good relationship with internal team and external

customer/vendors /agencies. Participate in vendor / agency management and

coordination.
4.Effectively implement company operation policy and procedure. Helping to

build a high efficient working style and positive working environment.
5.To check and process all kinds of marketing related expense and invoices

with Finance department and other related organizations Make and implement

business development strategy.
6.Responsible for the promotional activities of the company and manage

customer relationship.

Deux (2) stages sont proposés :

- stage de support informatique : en collaboration avec les cadres informatiques, l'élève aura pour mission de mettre en application ses connaissances théoriques en gestion de parc informatique. Installation des systèmes, dépannages matériel & logiciel, surveillance des réseaux internes seront les tâches que l'étudiant aura à réaliser.

- stage de développement : sous pilotage du Responsable I/T groupe, l'élève aura pour mission de concevoir et implémenter des applications web & réseaux sous PHP

 

Ces 2 stages apporteront aux élèves une pratique directement opérationnelle des acquis théoriques, et ce dans un environnement international

Après une formation sur Lunel (France, 34), l'élève-ingénieur aura pour fonction de seconder le chef de parc d'un projet de forage. Assistance à la supervision de la maintenance, participation aux dépannages complexes, assistance à l'approvisionnement en pièces détachées détachées seront les missions essentielles pour lesquelles l'élève viendra se former puis seconder le chef de parc.

Forte de son expérience à l'internationale, dans un secteur d'activités pluridisciplaires, FORACO propose à des élèves ingénieurs de 2ème ou 3ème année (BAC +4/5) de rejoindre ses équipes de terrain répartis sur une dizaine de pays en Afrique de l'Ouest Sub-saharienne.

Pour une période de 6 mois (+/-1 mois), le stagiaire aura pour mission de venir compléter sa formation théorique par l'apprentissage sur terrain et la mise en application directement opérationnelle de méthodes d'organisation et de gestion de projets de forage.

 

Après une période de formation (sur Lunel, France - 34), l'étudiant ira en mission sur un de nos chantiers en Afrique (exemple : Mali, Guinée, Congo...)
